Etihad resumes Bahrain and Kuwait flights after weeks of regional disruption
Flight tracker confirms scheduled departures from Saturday
ABU DHABI – Etihad Airways will resume flights to Bahrain and Kuwait from Saturday, August 8, bringing an end to weeks of suspended operations caused by heightened regional tensions.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier has confirmed the return of scheduled services through its flight status tracker.
The move comes after several weeks of cancellations linked to operational disruptions following renewed Iranian attacks.
Flight return
According to Etihad's flight status tracker, flight EY643 to Bahrain International Airport and flight EY653 to Kuwait International Airport are scheduled to operate from Saturday. The resumption restores two key regional routes that had remained suspended since mid-July.
Etihad had previously said flights to Bahrain and Kuwait were cancelled for "operational reasons". The airline also experienced disruptions on other regional routes during the same period, including services to Saudi Arabia's Dammam Airport in late July.
The suspension of Bahrain flights began on July 16 after an Etihad aircraft was forced to return to Abu Dhabi before completing its journey. The scheduled return service from Bahrain to the UAE capital was also cancelled, leaving passengers affected by the sudden operational changes.
Regional tensions
Flights to Kuwait were suspended during the same period as the region witnessed renewed security concerns following attacks by neighbouring Iran. The developments prompted several airlines to adjust schedules, cancel services and monitor the situation closely.
With flights to Bahrain and Kuwait now returning to the schedule from August 8, Etihad joins the gradual restoration of regional air connectivity as operations continue to stabilise.
